Czech PM Babis submits resignation

Outgoing Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis said he had formally submitted his resignation to President Milos Zeman Thursday, following last month’s election defeat.

Zeman had already announced that Petr Fiala - the leader of the center-right Together alliance - would form a new government earlier this week.

Babis will remain in a caretaker role until the new govt is sworn in.

Lukashenko Threatens to CUT OFF Gas Supply to EU amid Spiralling Migrant Crisis

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has threatened to retaliate against any new EU sanctions over the migrant border crisis by warning he could turn off gas supplies and block the transit of goods to Europe.

"We are heating Europe; they are still threatening us that they will close the border… I would recommend that the Polish leadership, Lithuanians and other headless people think before speaking," he said Thursday.

Lukashenko accused some migrants of trying to smuggle weapons from Donbass to the border with Poland as a provocation, claiming he has “no other way out” but to ask for Russia’s assistance in patrolling border airspace to “see what they are doing."
