Whether we understand the bigger picture at this point or not, the fact is that world at large still has a long way to go to actually be roused from its slumber about the institutions and people they (amazingly) still have faith in.
In order to do that, they need to be jolted. You were jolted much earlier because you were tuned in to some aspect(s) of what was happening. That was enough to constitute your “scare event” and you stepped up to face it.
