Putin offers himself up for vax experiment
Putin, who was fully vaccinated this spring, revealed on Sunday he was re-vaccinated with the single-dose Sputnik Light jab. The president added that he was feeling no adverse effects hours after getting the vaccine.
The revelation to the public came as Putin met the deputy director of Sputnik’s developer, Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Denis Logunov. Putin, who'd previously praised the world’s first registered vaccine, the two-component Sputnik V, described the Russian-made coronavirus jabs as “as reliable as the AK-47,” and said he was following the health officials’ recommendations in taking the booster shot.
He then told Logunov that he’s ready to help test another form of Russian Covid-19 medication, which has not yet been released – the intranasal vaccine currently undergoing a clinical trial on volunteers.

A team at Kyoto University may be one step closer to helping us do that. The scientists have demonstrated a new method of manipulating memory storage by hindering the nerve activity responsible. This could potentially be developed to target specific memories going forward.
If this sounds a bit ‘Men in Black’ to you, you’re not alone. Research leader Akihiro Goto said of the experiment, ‘In Men in Black the agents erase memories with a light flash. We did something similar.’
The research could eventually help produce new treatments for Alzheimer’s and a range of mental health disorders. If we’re really lucky, it could even get rid of that memory of the time you peed in gym class.
