Cross-Examination from the defense on "Jane" has continued.
The defense is clearly making an attempt to discredit Jane's testimony and they're doing so using prior statements made to the government as well as to family/news, not the testimony made here in this trial, on the stand.
The theme for their defense case is "Memories, manipulation and money" so it's no surprise that this line of questions is designed to discover holes in Jane's testimony and what she's preciously said about her encounters with Maxwell.

The defense continues questioning "Jane" on her account of events with Epstein based upon notes taken by the government from previous, unrecorded interviews. Jane continues to deny the discrepancies.
The reason these documents cannot be entered as evidence, is because by nature these notes are documented as not being verbatim - meaning they are simply notes of a conversation and are by nature incomplete.
They can still be used to refresh a witness's memory, but cannot be used as evidence.
