DNA testing company discloses data breach affecting 2.1mn people (BleepingComputer report)

DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC), an Ohio-based DNA testing company, confirmed a hacking incident occurred earlier this year that affected 2,102,436 persons.

The firm is believed to be working with external cyber-security experts to regain possession of the stolen files and ensure that the threat actor won’t propagate them further – the hackers reportedly accessing names, passwords and credit card and bank details.

DDC underlines that no genetic testing data has been exposed due to the data breach incident, as this is stored in a different system.

It just hit me again. This is a recurring theme… stop worrying about HOW something will be done and just focus on what we want to see happen.

When you worry about “how” you are trapped in the cycle of looking at options that you are already aware of and trying to decide if they fit the situation. When we do this, we completely eliminate all the possibilities that we don’t understand, haven’t seen before, and don’t know about yet.

Yeah, stop doing that, for the Love of God. (I absolutely mean that.)
Seriously.

What you’ve been taught dictates what you believe will happen in any given circumstance.

When you drop a pen, you believe it will fall, because that’s what it has always done.

When you boil water, you believe it will take a certain amount of time to reach temperature.

When you cut yourself, you believe it will hurt.

Etc, etc.

But what most of us don’t realize is that we are creating that experience in that moment. It’s a new moment and yet we treat it as if it were a repeat of the others.
We create what we believe.
The trick is getting at our beliefs. The thoughts behind our thoughts.

This is the truth.
Maybe you’re ready to hear it, maybe you’re not, but it’s true nonetheless.
