The National Bank of Ukraine was a branch of the Central Bank of the USSR prior to its collapse and has acted as the Central Bank of Ukraine since 1992. The National Bank of Ukraine is operated under the state administration of Ukraine which sets policy on money circulation, credit, and in strengthening the monetary unit. The current assets of the NBU (National Bank of Ukraine) is over $38 billion which seen it bank chief Yakiv Smoliy’s resignation in 2020 in protest against “systematic political pressure”. One example of this political pressure was the decision it was supposedly forced to make in nationalizing Ukraine’s largest lender, PrivatBank.
You might recall hearing of PrivatBank or at least one of its co-owners, Ihor Kolomoisky, a businessman reportedly a backer of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. Kolomoisky was embroiled in the Burisma scandal with Hunter Biden and for raiding his own bank while two of his middlemen were caught laundering billions of dollars through New York based Jewish organizations. He was officially sanctioned and barred from entering the United States in 2021, citing that he used his role as governor of his home province and the funneling of the money into investments in the U.S. and other countries.
So why is Ukraine so important to NATO, EU and the U.S, money is a big reason to have concerns along with the natural gas production I have mentioned in earlier posts. Any interruption of the operations of the central bank in Ukraine like flow of money is seen as detrimental to Europe and the U.S economies and could cause more inflation. Threats such as a Russian attack on Ukraine are causing worries of investors confidence which is causing turmoil in the markets.
As they continue with the Russia threat fear, normally safe assets are failing such as bonds, gold and other usually stable investments. What we must look at is who or what would profit from this type of uneasiness or is it the simplest of all measures; wreck the world economies to make it easier to usher in a new era under the Agenda 21 framework. If they can coerce or push Russia to attack Ukraine, then all the better for them with World War III being ushered in so they can kill two birds with one stone, lessen the worlds population and “Build Back Better” while blaming it all on Russia.
