Somewhere along the line, we have all heard the phrases about life not being all about money, and that there’s more to life than work and material possessions.
But understanding these things runs deeper than the surface meaning.
It’s true that life is not all about physical, material things. But it’s actually about unseen things, spiritual things … the life beyond and underneath the physical world.
It’s hard to understand what those cliche phrases mean when no one has ever told you what life IS about. When all around you are people who may say those types of things, and then go out and work themselves to the bone in order to buy things they don’t need and probably don’t even really want. When you are surrounded by examples of mindless living, how can you learn to do anything else?
It’s hard to understand the bigger majesty of life when your parents taught you to put money and physical surety before everything else. Or when you were taught to fear what might happen to you if you didn’t follow this paradigm: you’ll be miserable, looked down upon, maybe homeless, starving, etc
All of that is fear-based living rooted in the idea that there isn’t enough to around, that life is to be battled through and “endured”. All of that erroneous thinking comes from not understanding the truth about how our world works and what God has in store for us when we trust Him to provide for us.
Every need will be met.
But only if we trust and believe.

I heard three different “news reports” on the radio yesterday about Ukraine. They all had vastly different numbers of casualties and injuries along with differing accounts of the situation.
Not gonna lie. It kinda cracked me up and I was talking out loud to the radio. They even had a tearful Ukraine woman begging for help for the families. Not saying there isn’t bad stuff going on. Just noticing the bullshit.
It’s almost as if the curtain has been pulled back. 😉
