We look back now with new eyes and we see generation after generation failing to hold the line on the ideals and virtues of humanity. The low hum of mediocrity and the heinous pitch of narcissism and selfishness have replaced what once was the chorus of society singing to virtue, progress - and honor.
We are not invested in personal mastery or social contribution. We’ve come to a point of expecting very little from ourselves and others. We’ve become apathetic giving way to unjustifiable poverty, greed and a world ravaged by war. So many are afraid to demand more - to dare, like great leaders of the past with bold challenges to rise and contribute.
But like the Phoenix, from the squalor of this moral environment, the honorable few will surface; unafraid to challenge the direction of the world. Pages will be written, illustrating the journey of the “honorable few”. The melodies of our soul songs will resonate in the hearts of future generations. History written in the wake of our actions.

The Phoenix is a recurring theme for me lately. It keeps coming across my view screen for the past few weeks.
The Phoenix sacrifices herself out of love and full faith that she will rise again. More beautiful and stronger than before.
The highest form of Love is self sacrifice. But when I say that, I do not mean to sacrifice the self by suffering or martyrdom. It does not mean that you accept lack or unhappiness in order to serve others. No, it’s the opposite of that.
Service before self actually means to better the self in order to truly serve Creation.
To be motivated by the knowledge that you serve a higher purpose and to heal and strengthen the self in order to come to full fruition. Your life is not your own. It’s not something for you to cling to like a rope off the side of a ship. It’s something you dance on the head of a pin with. Something you know, and appreciate and feel immense gratitude for but you offer it up to Creation in order that you might use it for its ultimate highest purpose.
You can’t do that if you are clutching it in fear.
Letting go of that fear is something that is hard for us to do when we have been conditioned to fear everything from the sun, to our brothers and sisters, to even our own bodies.
God did not make you and this world for you to dwell in fear. Let the fear go and the doors to Heaven will open up right in front of you.
