What I find both fascinating and reassuring as I study different sources of truth and different approaches to it, is that most everyone is saying the same thing.
Perhaps different frameworks and different languages are used, but the fundamental messages are the same.
Once you get past the conditioning we’ve all been subjected to. And once you can shed whatever fear and dogma has been infecting your mind and your spirit, you can see what’s been hidden. You can see the power that it holds and you can understand that we truly are all One. All around the world, the division has been so overt, so blatant, that to see beyond it just highlights how powerful the Truth really is.
Never stop searching. Never stop seeking.

Respect for each "Hero" on his or her Journey is tantamount. Our Journeys are not the same. They each have similarities and ways that we can talk about them and communicate the general path, but each individual's Path is unique. As unique as each of us is. And that's why we cannot, and should not, try to dicate to another how their journey should go.
There is no "should".
There is only learning to stay balanced on your own Path and as you do that, you learn to feel where you need to be — often by sensing when you have wandered off that Path.
When you are firmly centered on your Path, you are in Flow, things move easily and you find that you are not "forcing" anything. You see signs all around you that the Universe is conspiring to help you and to guide you and you feel things are "right". (Thing is, you wouldn't know something felt right, unless you also understood "wrong" 😉)

The Seeker walks alone.
Wandering.
She comes to take a rest under a tree and she asks, “What can you tell me of life?”
And the tree replies, “You must grow. Draw nourishment from the earth and strength from the Sun. And when you are prevented from growing, you must push against whatever is constraining you until it breaks, or you take it within yourself and make it part of you. In this way, you will always be free.”
“Thank you,” she says.
She steps to the river and asks, “What can you tell me of life?”
And the river says, “You must Flow. And when you are prevented, you must wait until the power of your self overcomes the obstacle. In this way, you will always be free.”
“Thank you,” she says, “I am most grateful.”
She looks up at the Sun and asks her question, “What can you tell me of life?” And the Sun replies, “Trust. Trust that I will be here for you always. Trust that my warmth will sustain you and you will know the measure of my Love by the way I feel to you. Trust that I will teach you to Love as I do. In this way you will always be free and you will never perish.”
“Thank you,” she says and continues on her way.
And in that moment she senses the cool water nearby, and hears the tree’s leaves in the wind. The sun shines on her face and she smiles because she understands.

It has to be YOUR idea.
You can choose to do or not do something but the reason has to come authentically from inside YourSelf.
So like…ok…let’s say you drink a lot and you think it’s “bad” to do that. And you think that only because your definition of “drinking too much” comes from some external source. But in order to have the impetus to change anything, the definition of “bad” and “too much” has to come from inside YOU, not from the outside world telling you where those parameters are. YOU have to see it and choose it and feel it inside yourself.
And, see, that’s where the shame comes from. It comes from the OUTSIDE. Shame comes from allowing an external factor to dictate to you how you should feel.
When you choose, within yourself, not to do something because you’ve realized through your own gnosis that you don’t like it, that’s when it becomes easy to stop. And there’s no shame involved in that at all. It’s just a decision.
And that’s absolutely why so many people have to hit really low rock bottoms… because that’s what it takes within themselves to override whatever it is that’s causing them to choose to drink, or do drugs, or fuck everything that moves. Whatever the addiction is, it comes from some kind of internal need fulfillment. Or attempt at need fulfillment. And it takes an internal understanding and experience of not wanting to do it anymore in order to turn things around.
The reason people fall back time and again into addiction — the reason they fall off the wagon, is because they AREN’T BEING AUTHENTIC. They’re trying to fit into whatever mold society has placed around them. They know what the external rules are about what is acceptable, but until they decide internally to change, it will never work.
Because it can’t.
It’s trying instead of doing.
