Confession time.
As I was growing up, I was taught to judge people as “stupid” when they made mistakes in grammar and spelling.
It’s taken me years to unravel even that small cycle of judgement.
Anyone else?
What else?
What were you taught to use as some kind of meter to decide whether people were worth your time or not?
How they look? How they dress?
What about the car they drive or the house or neighborhood they live in?
Those were the things I was told “mattered”.
My parents were racist, too.
What about that?
And WHERE DID IT COME FROM?
Even as a child, those comments cut me to the core. Not because they were directed at me (usually) but because I knew they were just plain wrong and they made me so terribly uncomfortable.
Look at how deep this shit goes.
It’s wild, man. Really wild.
And sad af.
Anyway…not trying to rant. Just noticing some stuff.

The Bible says a whole lot more than what it appears to at a surface level.

Some people have a hard time letting go of their dogmatic beliefs about God because in many ways they actually still WANT a parent figure.
They don’t trust themselves enough yet to let that go. This is a direct result of not realizing that God is within and continuing to look for an external entity to govern their behavior. It’s rooted in the belief that humans are inherently “bad” and not to be trusted to their own devices. And that makes sense if you believe that people are naturally “sinners” and that they do not have God within them. To my Mind, this conditioned belief is the most damaging thing that the Church teaches. And it kinda pisses me off. But I digress.
Opening your eyes and Heart to the Truth takes a while for some. For others, it can happen in a flash. In one moment of realization of the bigger picture a person can take on an entirely different view of what is and how they fit into it.
For other people the realization can be a gradual unfolding. A day to day act of Faith that allows deeper connection with the HigherSelf and moment after moment of “proof” that what we get from our Inner Guidance is Real and correct. That it can be trusted.
The more one does this, the easier it gets until it becomes second nature and the innerstanding is solidified.
There is no “right way” to do this. I’m just pointing out that it works differently for different people and none of it can be forced. A person just has to WANT to Know the Truth in order to begin the process.
The choice to know will be yours. 😉
