I was recently asked if I felt fear at the prospect of en-light-en-ment(e), or "the light within" as it were put. After coming across Ramana's quote above, I thought my answer, which is essentially saying the same thing, might help some who feel that fear.

When you have given all of your identity (as we all do) to ego, anything that threatens its comfortAbel position as supposed ruler will appear as fear-full.

What happens if you instead try to see this [awakening/ liberation] as a natural process that is happening outside of your (ego's) will/ control?

I think, speaking for myself anyway, that we can feel an enormous amount of pressure placed on us when we come into the knowledge that there is a Great Work to be completed... "I have to get it right, right now, otherwise I'll let everybody down/ never have another shot at enlightenment"... "rapture is here and I'm late..." etc etc etc.

But what if, just like growing up from a child to adult, the process happens whether you (ego) like it or not?!

I think some of (a lot of) the fear comes because the ego knows that it alone cannot contain the immensity (infinity) of feeling that you describe.. it knows that this journey is going to crack that egg(o) wide open so that MORE is allowed, which is really the WHOLE of you.

Bit by bit, step by step, layer by oniony layer, more and more of YOU (the You that has ego within, but is not limited to that) will be re-veal-ed - a return to the magickal child state (Puer), whilst accepting the reality of matter and time that is Senex consciousness.

And lastly, it's called the Hero's Journey (as I know you know) for a reason! It takes massive strength and courage to undertake it, because it will literally present you with what you fear most - our repressed/ unconscious aspects - so that you can bring those forgotten aspects back in and give them a home. It's all you, so you won't be given more than you can handle. And if you do, have a breather! There's no runners up medals for getting there first, because there's only you competing.

My day started with a clear prompt to go do a Tarot reading for myself. The connection that I felt and the information I received was absolutely dead on and incredibly helpful.

What I think may be helpful to share is this:
“An old cycle and way of doing things is closing and a new one is beginning. Any tension you are feeling is really just your old self trying to hang on when it’s actually in opposition to the energy that is coming in now.”

Or even "Spir" reducing down to "Breath" or "coil : twist".


Are we not in a spiral, a coil of a breathe experiencing a rite of passage in the form of our physical lives so that we can face adversity and thus continue to grow, evolve as the Spirit of All continues to expand?

WE were the sacrifice. Our commitment to coming here to live a life of adversity in order to grow - THAT was the price we paid. We all paid it. We went down, down, down that spiral in order to alchemize what we found and to use it. There is knowledge that can only be found in the darkness otherwise the darkness would not need to exist.

So we embraced it. Knowing it was a rite of passage to a deeper awareness of ourselves and the affect we can have on one another. We had to experience it to understand the depth of our power - both the beautiful aspects which allows us to transform, and the ugly aspects which allows us to destroy.

We get to carry that awareness forward and out to the rest.

The Divine Man, the Spirit part of each of us is “hung on a cross” when it condenses down into physicality here on Earth.

The body is our cross.

It’s a metaphor for the process of coming here, being here, living here…for the journey of finding the Balance between Spirit and Matter.
Aether and Earth.
“Heaven” and “Hell”.
