Acknowledging your own pain is what allows you to develop compassion for others.

If you deny it and pretend you’re ok when you really aren’t, then you also cannot see when others are hurting. And much of the time all they really want is for someone to just see and acknowledge what they’re going through.

You don’t have to “fix” it. In fact, you shouldn’t. But to not SEE it is harmful in its own way. It’s a denial of what IS.

Acknowledging that it exists is not the same as coddling. Coddling is when you try to take the work of growth away from someone else. Validating what they feel AND acknowledging that they are capable of learning and growing from the experience is the medicine.

It’s a delicate balance and one that society has perverted by luring people into a victim mentality and telling them that others need to save them. This is not Healing. It’s the opposite bc it is a LIE.

Healing comes through the realization that you save yourSelf. And that you are fully capable of doing so.

Sovereignty.

I think this is the environment that’s being rebuilt and rekindled in this country. And I’m excited to watch it happening!
