This is taking place just over the mountain range to the west of me. I live on the Eastern slope which lets down into the desert. Consumables in the desert for fire are far and few between. There are clusters here and yes they can burn but where there's lots of sand the fire goes out.

We were driving back yesterday from Bakersfield. The dust dropped visibility in some areas to maybe a couple hundred ft or less.

I seen on another channel somebody asking why didn't they send the choppers in? My reply was the choppers were grounded due to high wind advisories.

Those Santa Ana winds aren’t called “Devil Winds” for nothing.
