Federal employees are being offered a choice point - a fork in the road. If they want to resign instead of belly up to the bar with the new administration, they have till February 6th to accept a deferred resignation. They’ll receive pay and benefits till September 30, 2025, will NOT be required to come in to work, and will then leave federal service at the deferred date (unless they choose to complete the resignation earlier).

Pretty nice offer, all things considered. This will skinny down the federal workforce significantly. And keep in mind that it applies to all workers (with a few exceptions) and will likely be used by quite a few folks who perhaps agree with the new administration but are just done working. Those close to retirement or who have other job opportunities will likely hit the exit button as well.

Hilarious that pretty much all they have to do is reply to the email from their government account and state “RESIGN” 😆😆😆
