Too me, this is what we create space for when we leave an addiction - like you said; a running away from our authentic self.

Most, when trying to quit without seeing though the con-trick - see what is left when we remove a substance as a void, an emptiness, that only the substance will seemed to fill. (This is the illusion).

But really it’s a space/ garden that beautiful things will begin to appear in, and some not so easy to hold/ love parts of you will present themselves.

And this is where most fall down: when the shadow stuff arises, if there is any doubt that the alchohol (or whatever it is) never helped with those “negative” parts of us/ life, that the chances of making the attempt, or staying stopped are very difficult, because the prison is entirely mental.

Whilst our will is conflicted between “I want it, but I hate it”, we can’t be our authentic self.

Walk Free helps first with removal of the addiction parasite:
- you see clearly that there never was pleasure/ comfort/ social prop/ whatever being given, it was all an illusion and so feeling of having made a sacrifice. We have overcome and dispelled an illegitimate fear, by realising that it was only False Evidence Appearing Real.

(No conflict in Will because now all of our will is directed at facing The Shadow and overcoming that legitimate fear)

- And then we get into the beautiful opportunity that lays ahead, now that the parasites’ energy (and your drain) has been dealt with.

Together we prepare you your new found freedom from addiction and suggest ways of allowing that reclaimed energy/ sensitivity/ connection to your inner oracle, that is now available to bring the true wholing (healing)… a healing that mental, emotional and physical slavery to a parasite prevented you re/membering: your natural state.

But yeah, dispelling the Big Lie that BigSociety loves to perpetuate: that these things are “naughty but nice”, is the key to getting someone free from an addiction, and to be happy about it!

And then comes The Hero’s Journey (a continuation of), but this time walked Consciously. We’re not trying to escape the natural pull of The Underworld by constantly trying to run away toward (false) “highs”.
