Some of us were not raised by people who make us feel loved just for existing. So we start our life climbing challenge after challenge, aiming to achieve this or that to prove our worth, to prove we deserve to be here.

When in reality, we deserve to be here, because we exist. And while our parents are and always will be the vessels we arrived through, we were given our own vessels for a reason. We were given freedom & privacy of thought also. While as children we had zero control over what happened, when we mature and become adults to parents like this, we have a lot of difficult decisions. Because depending on the degree of toxicity, a narcissist parent will not allow for free will. They will fight every decision you make, causing you anxiety as you doubt and over think every decision.

Children of narcissistic parents eventually find themselves in a place where the only way to be happy, is to separate from the toxic trunk that they branched out from and to re-pot themselves entirely. Or suffocate with it.
