The truth is I used to be highly triggered by these things. I learned a trauma response of fawning earrrrrrly on. How that impacted me as I grew and developed?

Well, I became a total people pleaser 😅.
My value? Was determined by what people thought about me.

BORING.

I was a chameleon. I camouflaged from environment to environment.

I prided myself in not being seen in a bad light.

So I hid my shadows.
I kept them locked tight.
Only to be seen by those who were willing to take the time and build the trust required to let my walls come down.

Boring.
Boring.
And boring.

I found myself twice today disagreed with. And both times my immediate thought when I went to engage or respond was "oh how boring". So I didnt. I just ... Moved along with my life.

Because time?
It's a currency.
And wasted time is too expensive.

It actually made me laugh. Because this is SO not how I was even a year ago. I would've been upset. I would've been stressed. Anxious even. Fretting over what I said, how I said it, how I worded it, how that came across and how others might have taken it too.

Now?

SO BORING 😆😆😆😆😆😆

I am just happy with who I am. And I don't care one bit if I am disliked or disagreed with. I kind of like my shadows. My imperfections. The things that make me disagreeable to people who don't resonate with my authentic self.

I find myself surrounded by people who mostly do resonate with the real me. The unfiltered me. The whole me.

And that's been pretty healing.
To know that I can say the thing, and that not everyone leaves or holds it against me as if it's the sum total of who I am and all that makes me, me.
To know that I can make the joke or share the thing and the ones who do leave - well, they were never actually meant for me anyway. Maybe for a time, for a season. But seasons change and pages turn and I keep on living. Free. In peace.

HAPPY.
