There’s a really important piece of understanding about emotions that my husband taught me long ago.

They all mean something.

“Sadness” means you’ve lost something.

“Anger” means you want something to change.

Figure out what those “things” are and then work towards Healing them. That’s how you transmute the situation and bring something good to pass.

Everything is FAR WEIRDER than you think it is.

There's a certain kind of magic behind people who can put aside their own opinions, beliefs and bias to truly see another person for who they are.

What doesn't get spoken about enough: They often get taken advantage of, because they have a gift of multi-faceted sight. They can see beyond their own thoughts. They don't just put on the shoes of another person, they take a stroll in them and consider what it would be like to look through their eyes. They can feel what others feel. There are some who see this as a weakness and exploit it. They see a flame and steal all of the oxygen in the room until the flame goes out and a small tendril of smoke remains.

But when you not only recognize your superpower, but also your own worth, you stop feeding those who feast on your empathic energy, and you use your reserves for those who have lost their voice, endured abuse and have been outcast for their differences. You light candles who have long been starved of a light source. You brighten spaces and illuminate shadows where they lurk. You bring warmth and tenderness to a world hungering for authentic kindness. No agenda. No ulterior motive. Just a heart that says "you're stronger than you think" and "you're worth it".

We shift. We evolve. And sometimes the most difficult times we go through stand to teach us the most about who we want to be in this world.
