Intergenerational trauma doesn’t knock.

Drafts you at birth.
Hands you a noscript soaked in guilt and calls it love.
Be the peacemaker.
Be the strong one.
Be the one who absorbs everything so the room stays comfortable.
Congratulations—you’re the emotional septic tank with a last name.
They tell you to “respect your elders” while shoving their unresolved damage straight into your spine like it’s an heirloom china set.
Don’t question.
Don’t name it.
Don’t ruin the vibe by bleeding honestly.
Funny how “family values” always translate to:
Shut the fuck up so we don’t have to change.
Here’s the heresy that gets you written out of group texts:
Some families don’t want healing.
They want maintenance.
Same dysfunction.
New host body.
Breaking the cycle feels like betrayal because the system runs on you staying numb and available.
The moment you stop absorbing the poison, it spills.
And suddenly you’re the problem.
They’ll call you selfish.
Unstable.
“Brainwashed.”
They’ll say you’ve changed like it’s an insult.
Correct. I escaped.
You are not obligated to martyr your nervous system for tradition.
You are not required to stay loyal to people who confuse blood with ownership.
You are not evil for refusing to be the family’s emotional landfill.
If choosing yourself burns bridges—
those weren’t bridges.
They were cages with decorative railings.
You didn’t break the family.
You broke the spell.
