A teenager died suddenly in her sleep at her family home in Dagenham after her heart “simply stopped beating”, an inquest has heard. Amy Forde-Jury, 16, was last seen by her mum on the evening of November 22, 2021, when she appeared perfectly well, but she was found unresponsive in her bedroom the following morning.
Despite a lengthy post-mortem which involved a number of tests, a cause of death has not been ascertained, and her death has been ruled as a sudden adult death, which could have been caused by an irregular beat of the heart. An inquest at Waltham Forest Coroners Court on June 17 heard that this type of arrhythmia occurs “simply out of the blue”, without any signs or symptoms appearing beforehand.

The young girl suffered a heart attack on the A9 motorway, at Salses (Pyrénées-Orientales), in the direction of Spain – France, on Saturday, June 25.
Emergency services from Salses were dispatched to the stretch of motorway at around 10.30 am after receiving calls that the girl had suffered a heart attack.
Paramedics performed CPR at the scene before they rushed the girl to the Perpignan hospital while trying to resuscitate her on the journey.
However, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
