China's fusion reactor ignited an artificial "sun" for 17 minutes.
According to Chinese media reports, one of the three largest fusion reactors in operation in the country was able to keep the plasma heated to 70 million °C for more than 17 minutes. They believe this is an important milestone on the road to mastering thermonuclear energy production.
