We Are All Aryans: Why Kurds Aren't Outsiders—And Why Iran Was Never Persia

All Kurds come from the same Aryan root—same blood, same ancient tongue, same history. They’re not outsiders. They’re Iranians. Just like Persians, Lurs, Baloch, Azeris—branches of one tree.

Here’s how it started: back in the seventh century, Arabs rolled in with conquest. The whole empire—Medes, Persians, Scythians, everyone—got slammed. Some fought. Some fled. A bunch of our people scrambled up into the Zagros Mountains, dug in, hid, survived. Over generations, they kept their language, their ways—but outsiders slapped “Kurd” on them, just meaning “mountain people.” Like if I ran from a Mongol horde, hid in a tunnel for centuries, and my kids got nicknamed “Tunnel People.” Same DNA. Same roots. Still Iranian. The name’s just a scar from the war—not a new identity.

Iran was never “Persia.” Never. That’s a Greek screw-up—they saw Pars province, got dazzled by the court, and called the whole damn thing “Persia.” The West ran with it. But inside? We’ve always said *Ērānšahr*—Land of the Aryans. Not “Land of the Persians.” Not “Persian Empire.” *Āryānām Xšaθra*—the realm of all Aryans. From day one. Medes who helped Cyrus build it. Scythians riding the steppes. Elamites holding the south. Kurds in the ridges. All of us. Co-owners. Not guests. Not minorities.

And Kurds? They’ve got their own provinces—Kurdistan, Kermanshah, West Azerbaijan—right alongside every other piece of Iran. They speak Kurdish there, teach it, broadcast it, live it. No one bans it. That’s why when one Kurd gets hurt—like Mahsa Amini, beaten to death by morality police in 2022—the whole country exploded. Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Baloch—we all hit the streets. Because she wasn’t “just Kurdish.” She was us. And when Kurds bleed, we bleed too. Vice versa. We’re wired that way.

Kurds in Iran? Full citizens. Same rights, same duties. Move anywhere. Vote. Work. Fight. No second-class bullshit.

If you want independence? Fine—in Iraq, Syria, Türkiye. That’s where the real fight’s been. Self-determination makes sense there.

But inside Iran? No. You can’t scream “I’m Iranian!” then demand a chunk of Iran for yourself. That’s not rights—it’s betrayal. Like a Floridian saying “I’m American, but Florida’s my own country now.” Or like me, naturalized Dutch: I chose this, I play by the rules—no carve-outs.

And yeah—some Kurds feel separate. Hurt. Pushed aside. But that’s not biology. That’s politics. Their language? A dialect. Their mountains? Our mountains. Pretending they’re “not Iranian” is like saying Tunnel People aren’t Iranian because they lived underground. Nah. They’re just cousins who got stuck in the attic while the rest of us got the living room.

The real enemy? This regime. The Islamic Republic. They’ve been hurting Kurds *and* Persians the same—torture, executions, forced hijab, crushed protests. It’s not “Persians oppressing Kurds.” It’s a foreign, abusive step-parent beating all the kids. So we don’t say “I’m not your sibling anymore” and run off. We fight the abuser. Together.

And that’s why it’s crucial—don’t call Iran “Persia.” Don’t call us “Persians.” That erases everyone else. It pretends Iran ever meant “Land of the Persians.” It didn’t. It means Land of the Aryans. Call us Iranians. Or Ariyans. Not Persian. Because every time you say “Persian,” you’re handing the Greeks—and the regime—a win. You’re shrinking us down to one branch when we’re the whole damn forest.

It’s simple: equal citizenship doesn’t work with ethnic carve-outs. You don’t get to keep the passport while rewriting the borders. Persians aren’t “the real Iranians.” Kurds aren’t “different.” We’re family. And family doesn’t split the deed because one cousin hates the paint job—or because a shitty step-dad’s in charge.

If you wanna leave—leave. But don’t pretend you were ever “not Iranian.” That’s just bad history.
