The Cognitive Neuroimaging Laboratory (CNL) at the Beckman Institute, University of Illinois, is looking for postdocs to join in on exciting research to investigate how the state of the brain’s arteries and other risk factors influence cognitive and brain decline in aging.
The CNL is currently funded by two 5-year NIA grants, using new optical technology to measure cerebrovascular health, coupled with other imaging modalities (structural and functional MRI, EEG and ERPs). The two projects are complementary and synergistic, with one investigating longitudinally the role of risk factors on anatomical and physiological changes associated with brain aging, and the other focusing on brain function and studying the specific effects of arterial health on cognitive control and related brain networks.
