Two postdoctoral positions are available at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS Paris, #France).
We are seeking a highly motivated person with a strong background in vision neuroscience and EEG.
The project aims at using real-time decoding of EEG signals to uncover the neural mechanisms of attention during perceptual decision task.
Candidates should have at least a PhD degree in the domain of cognitive science, neuroscience, physicist or engineering, and a solid training in vision science and quantitative analysis of neurophysiological data.
Good command of programming tools including Matlab and/or Python noscripting are required. Knowledge and experience with machine learning is also desirable but not prerequisites.
The project will be coordinated by Pr. Sid Kouider (for more information on lab and research visit: http://www.lscp.net/persons/sidk/).

When we read a letter we’re supposedly evaluating the student, but we’re actually evaluating the letter-writer too. What I care about is not only what you think, but also what I think of what you think. If I don't know you, I need to calibrate you.
Of course, sometimes information can hurt. If you praise research that is no harder than what we assign our first-year undergraduate students, that tells us a lot about your program, but not a lot positive. I saw precisely such a letter back in about 2002; to this day, I can name the college (and the student...). Until that program becomes a whole lot stronger, I wouldn't want to admit anyone from it.
If you’ve been holding back praise, tell us: If you haven’t written a letter this strong since 1998, and you've written two dozen letters in that time, it helps for us to know that. Of course, be honest. If we take you at your word and your student proves to be significantly weaker than your letter, we won't trust your future recommendations.
Ultimately, remember two things:
Your most valuable resource is your credibility. If you are a credible letter-writer, we will take you at your word and, if one day you tell us about a stellar student, we will do everything we can to make room for her. But credibility is one-way: hard to acquire, easy to lose.
You can’t get a student in, but you can make a student not get in. That is, there is only so much you can say to get a student admitted, but if we come to distrust your letter, your next student is going to have a much harder time getting in. For “you”, substitute your institution also.

از #آزادسازی_مدرک تا #ترجمه_مدرک
بعد از اینکه مدت زمان لازم(این قانونها هی تغییر میکنن) از زمان ثبتنام توی #کاریابی گذشت مراحل زیر رو طی کنین:
۱- توی سامانهی سجاد ثبت نام کنین. مدارکی مثل کپی شناسنامه کارت ملی میخواد که ممکنه ثبتنامش چند ساعتی براتون طول بکشه.
۲-مراجعه به خیابان سپهبد قرنی، بالاتر از چهارراه طالقانی پلاک ۱۰۷، شناسنامه کارت ملی و مدارک موقت اینجا لازم هست، باید برای هر کدوم از مراحل تحصیلیتون نامهای خطاب به دانشگاه گواهی عدم کاریابی بگیرین. (توی این مرحله نیاز به حضور خودتون هست اما اینکه بدون خودتون هم کار راه بیفته غیر ممکن نیست. بستگی داره به اخلاق مسئولش توی اون روز داره)
۳-یک روز بعد از تاریخ گواهی عدم کاریابی، میتونی توی سامانهی سجاد درخواست لغو تعهد آموزش رایگان برای لیسانس بدین. چند روز (برای من ۱۰ روز) طول کشید تا سامانهی سجاد بهتون نامهی لغو تعهد آموزش رایگان بده.
۴- بعد از صدور این نامه و گذشت حدود یک روز گلستان باید بهتون اجازهی درخواست دانشنامه رو بده. برای من با گذشت دو روز هنوز خطا میداد و با مراجعهی حضوری به دانشگاه درست شد.
۵-نامهی #لغو_تعهد آموزش رایگان برای لیسانس رو که دریافت کردین میتونین همون لحظه درخواست جدیدی برای لغو تعهد دورهی ارشد توی سامانهی سجاد بدین. (مراحل ارشد ازینجا به بعد عین لیسانس هست)
۶-برای ترجمهی نیاز به گرفتن کد صحت از سامانهی سجاد دارین. برای ایجاد درخواست کد صحت هم نیاز به تصور دانشنامه دارین، اما لازم نیست صبر کنین که #دانشنامه به دستتون برسه، وقتی که درخواست دانشنامه رو توی گلستان ثبت کردین بعد از چند مرحلهی اداری میتونین تصویر دانشنامه رو از خود گلستان دانلود کنین. تصویر توی درخواست کارنامهی انگلیسی میاد. در صورت عجله این کار چند روزی کارتون رو جلو میندازه.
۷-برای ترجمه هم لازم نیست صبر کنین اصل مدرک برسه. کد صحت همراه با تصویر مدرک رو به دارالترجمه بدین و بهشون بگین کارهای ترجمه رو انجام بدن تا اینکه اصل مدرک رو براشون ببرین. این هم کارتون رو جلو میندازه.
توضیحات: هر درخواستی رو که توی گلستان ثبت میکنین حواستون باشه دکمهی «تایید و ارسال» رو بزنین. پرداخت کردن پول به معنی ارسال درخواست نیست. حتما باید آخرش این دکمه رو بزنین.
این مراحل ممکنه برای دانشگاههای مختلف کمی فرق کنه من لیسانس و ارشدم هر دو دانشگاه تهران بود.

• PhD research topic: an inter-disciplinary research on fluid flow and transport in porous materials, complex rocks and underground formations for application to geoengineering or environmental engineering.
• Supervision: Student will be co-supervised by Dr. Hassan Mahani (from Sharif University of Technology) and Dr. Pavel Bedrikovetsky from University of Adelaide in Australia. The successful candidate will follow the #Australian university admission process.
• Scholarship/admission requirements:
1. Applicant should have completed an MSc degree in Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics (applied or theoretical) from Sharif University of Technology
2. Applicant should have three published papers (the bare minimum requirement) in journals with impact factor > 1.5 (e.g. J Petr Sci Eng, J Nat Gas Sci Eng, SPEJ, Transport in Porous Media, Fuel, Energy & Fuels, Computational Geoscience etc). Conference papers or publications in low impact journals do not count.

1. Applicant should have completed an MSc degree in Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics (applied or theoretical) from Sharif University of Technology
2. Applicant should have three published papers (the bare minimum requirement) in journals with impact factor > 1.5 (e.g. J Petr Sci Eng, J Nat Gas Sci Eng, SPEJ, Transport in Porous Media, Fuel, Energy & Fuels, Computational Geoscience etc). Conference papers or publications in low impact journals do not count.
3. Strong background and interest in applied mathematics and physics
4. Shortlisted applicants should submit a review report of some of the recently published papers by the supervisors for approval.
5. The applicant should meet the other general requirements for admission to the university e.g. English language proficiency
