NEW‼️: A report by UsForThem reveals that 26 SAGE members advising the UK government on Covid lockdowns failed to declare over £210 million in Wellcome Trust grants (Gates-funded) from 2018 to 2026, including £175 million in 2020-2021, creating apparent conflicts of interest.

Of 149 SAGE members, 38 sought or supported Wellcome funding, but only 12 registered it despite requirements to disclose research and commercial ties.

Examples include Prof Neil Ferguson, who received £5.6 million without mention despite his lockdown advocacy; Prof Susan Michie (£3.8 million behavioral science grant); Prof John Edmunds (sponsor of £12 million+ projects); Prof Gavin Screaton (£26 million, including Covid-related); and Prof David Lalloo (£25 million Africa infections project).

UsForThem legal director Ben Kingsley criticized the lapses as undermining transparency and public trust in unbiased advice.

Wellcome, led by SAGE member Sir Jeremy Farrar—who dismissed the Wuhan lab-leak theory—emphasized its independent, non-profit status and open grant data, while some professors claimed their roles were non-conflicting or declarations unnecessary.

The government has spent over £300 million on the Covid inquiry, amid Wellcome’s pandemic call for vaccines and drugs as the “only exit strategy.”
