The Case of the Dead Refugees on the Polish Border – Emil Czeczko the Polish Soldier and Whistleblower – the First Award to Human Rights Defenders and Journalists in, Minsk Belarus, 2023
History of the Emil Czeczko case
In March 2022 the Polish soldier Emil Czeczko who defected to Belarus during the height of the border migrant crisis in 2021 (and before started in 2015) year was found dead in his apartment.
The 22-year-old had been a member of Poland’s 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division when he abandoned his post and defected. He was accused by the Polish authorities of desertion.
Czeczko had been one of thousands of troops stationed on the frontier to stop refugees living in camps in the region from entering Poland. Upon his arrival in Belarus, he said he was being opposed to Poland’s management of migrants and also said he had been “forced to kill people “.
They do not want us to proclaim the truth about the once “humanitarian democratic” Europe, which has now fallen into totalitarianism, they shield themselves with walls and thinks it is laundering its criminal acts of war in which they themselves or as accomplices participated. They will continue demonize us in their propaganda media or give us sanctions or whatever, but we will not be silent and will continue to speak out against their criminal deeds on various people throughout the world!
