'A migrant who arrived in the UK on a small boat and stabbed a customer to death in a bank has been jailed for life.

Haybe Cabdiraxmaan Nur was sentenced to a minimum 25 years in prison at Derby Crown Court for murdering Gurvinder Singh Johal shortly after he had angrily complained about his refused asylum application.

Nur was seen on CCTV attacking Johal with a kitchen knife at a Lloyds Bank Branch in St Peter's Street on 6 May.

Derby Crown Court heard Nur had called charity Migrant Help less than two hours earlier, saying he was “going to kill 500 people”, later suggesting he was going to target “doctors, police or people working at the Home Office”.'
