British motorists travelling abroad will be effectively taxed twice under Rachel Reeves' new pay-per-mile scheme.
The Chancellor is expected to announce a new levy for electric vehicle (EV) drivers in the upcoming budget.
Treasury sources told the Daily Mail yesterday that EV owners will be charged 3p per mile on top of other road taxes.
The tariff will also apply motorists when they are driving on foreign roads.

Senior BBC journalists are said to be furious over the censuring of Martine Croxall amid claims that the Corporation has been 'captured by trans ideologists'.
Colleagues of Ms Croxall are planning to complain directly to the director-general about how she has been treated and will urge him to overhaul the broadcaster's 'absolutely mad' complaints unit.

Latest update from David Clews:
"There is a very good saying, 'you can ignore reality but you cannot ignore the consequences of reality'.
It is fair to say that this country, and the wider Western World, is in an absolutely dire state and getting worse by the day.
However of late I have never been as confident that we can actually turn this ship around.
Unfortunately my analysis of the situation is that we are going to have to remain patient for the next few years until the opportunity presents itself.
I am still of the belief that Reform is the only vehicle in town to break up the two party duopoly of Labour and the Tories. However no one in Reform actually has guts to do what is really necessary.

As you can see with the above graphics there is no way that these equations can be solved, Government borrowing and debt levels are out of control and will never be sorted in this system. Immigration levels are also completely out of control. We don't have the houses, infrastructure or ability to handle this.
So what I am saying is that this current economic and social system built since 1945 is on its last legs.
The time will come when we can make a move and do what is necessary to retake this country. As I say this will happen around 2029 onwards which is of course 100 years since the last Great Depression. We are looking at total societal collapse. So it is so important that we continue to build allies, friendships, take individual responsibility and prepare for what is coming.
This is what I am doing and I know that one day justice is coming.
Any questions or thoughts on this please let me know.
Kind Regards,
David Clews"

BBC director general Tim Davie and CEO of News Deborah Turness have resigned over a documentary about Donald Trump.
Mr Davie said: 'There have been some mistakes made and as director general I have to take ultimate responsibility.'
The concerns regard clips spliced together from sections of Mr Trump's speech on January 6, 2021 to make it appear he told supporters he was going to walk to the US Capitol with them to 'fight like hell'.
The documentary 'Trump: A Second Chance?' was broadcast by the BBC the week before last year's US election.

HOUSEHOLDS could get millions in cash by snitching to the taxman on friends and neighbours under a new rewards scheme.
It could see informants of tax fraud rewarded with up to 30% of the taxes recovered if they successfully tip off HMRC.
The scheme would be similar to a practice carried out in the US, where whistleblowers receive a percentage of the tax as a reward.

Asylum seekers are to be given £100 a week to leave taxpayer-funded hotels under plans being considered by ministers.
Home Office officials are proposing the migrants use the money to pay to live with a family or individual they know as part of Sir Keir Starmer’s drive to accelerate the closure of asylum hotels.
It is understood the £100 a week would be provided on top of their taxpayer-funded support for living costs of £49.18 a week for migrants in hotels.
The plan, to be trialled in 2026, could cut the cost of housing asylum seekers to a seventh of the total currently paid to accommodate them in hotels.

China has lifted export controls on computer chips vital to car production, the country's commerce ministry said on Sunday.
Exemptions have been granted to exports made by Chinese-owned Nexperia for civilian use, it said, which should help carmakers who had feared production in Europe would be hit.

An extra 189,000 families and individuals in the UK are rough sleeping, sofa surfing and living in tents. They were not included in official statistics.
This could put homelessness at around 500,000.
Yet the regime continues to import hundreds of thousands of new people into the UK every year.
