A black Greggs supervisor who was called a 'ganja man' by his colleagues has won a race discrimination case.

Ebeneezer Tagoe was sacked for gross misconduct over allegations he gave away free sausage rolls, pasties, and coffees.

Mr Tagoe was also known as the 'ganja man' at the bakery at Crossbush Service Station, in West Sussex, and was accused of talking about selling marijuana.

He faced a huge swathe of allegations and was sacked.

Mr Tagoe took the case to an employment tribunal, where it was unanimously decided that he had been unfairly dismissed and that he had been discriminated against because of his race.

He was also given £1,413 in unpaid holiday pay.

A TRANS Scout leader has been suspended after allegedly sharing hardcore porn and drugs promotions on social media.

Gabby Josephine Smith, 41, faces a probe over tweets showing hundreds of explicit videos, erotic pictures of young men and cannabis products.

The 41-year-old was given a two-week ban weeks after receiving the prestigious Wood Badge for volunteering with Scouts in Melrose, Roxburghshire.

One furious parent hit out: “How did this person manage to become a decorated leader with social media history like that?

“It wasn’t even hidden, it’s in plain sight. If adults can find it, so can tech-savvy kids.

“The Scouts need to get a grip on this. Any organisation that looks after children needs the trust of parents.”

Plans have been unveiled to introduce the first new option for what happens to your body after death since 1902 by SNP ministers. Hydrolysis, which is also known as a water cremation, is set to be introduced under draft regulations put forward in the Scottish Parliament.

This comes after a government consultation in 2023 found that 84 percent of Scots supported the idea. This process would see the body wrapped in a silk or woollen shroud (or another biodegradable material) and then placed in a chamber with hot water and chemicals to speed up decomposition.

BBC writes: Young women say they were taught how to open a bank account in school, but not how to change a tampon or spot signs of cancer.

"As a person from an ethnic minority background, in some communities it's actually taboo and quite a sensitive topic to talk about, so if you're not able to learn about these things in school, then where do you learn?" said 23-year-old Athika Ahmed.

Ofcom has said it has never heard from a porn company it has fined £1m for failing to comply with the UK Online Safety Act.

It said it had been emailing AVS Group Ltd since it launched its investigation in July, but had not had a response at any point - so the firm had been fined an extra £50,000.

The Act makes it a legal requirement for websites that host pornographic material to put in place what the regulator determines to be "highly effective age assurance" to prevent children from being able to easily access explicit content.

Ofcom said AVS must now implement highly effective age assurance within 72 hours or face an additional penalty of £1,000 a day.

Three men and a woman have been arrested in East Sussex as part of an investigation into extreme right-wing terrorism.

The arrests were carried out by specialist officers in Eastbourne and Brighton.

Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) said a 27-year-old woman from Hailsham was arrested, along with three men from Eastbourne, aged 33, 36 and 41.

All are being held under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 while searches take place at residential properties.

Assistant Chief Constable Steve Rayland said the arrests were "part of a planned operation" supported by Sussex Police.

"People living in the local area may notice an increased police presence while search activity takes place, which is routine in cases of this nature," said Mr Rayland.

El-Nakla, of Dundee, is accused of dealing cocaine from the flat between January 9 and 11 2024, as well as at another home in the city, which he denies.
