Part of the Tower of London has been closed following reports of criminal damage to a display case containing the Imperial State Crown, part of the Crown Jewels.

Police said four protesters had been arrested following the incident just before 10am on Saturday.

They said it was reported that food had been thrown onto the case before two protesters left the scene.

Footage of the incident appears to show one demonstrator removing the large foil tray of apple crumble from a bag and slamming it against the glass.

Meanwhile, another pours a tub of bright yellow custard on the front of the case.

"Officers worked closely with City of London Police and security officers and four people have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. They have taken into custody," officers said.

"The Tower has been closed to the public while the police investigation continues."

Illegal immigrants housed in Dungavel House, including some who are foreign criminals, are getting better healthcare than hard-working Scots, a shocking new report has claimed.

It found, following an inspection of the detention centre, that the people held there had "low waiting numbers and short waiting times" and "good access" to care.

Detainees, including criminals serving prison sentences in the UK, are being "encouraged" to drop into its on-site health centre to make appointments, which is a contrasting experience to many average Scottish patients who struggle to get GP appointments or are stuck on lengthy waiting lists.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a number of people were sprayed with what is believed to be pepper spray at a Heathrow Airport car park, police said.

A group of people who knew each other were involved in an argument which escalated and resulted in people being injured, police said, with other suspects being searched for.

Twenty-one people were treated for injuries with five of those taken to hospital.

The Metropolitan Police said it was an isolated incident and was not being treated as terrorism or protest-related.

Earlier in the day trains were delayed and the car park was closed due to the incident but it reopened by 11:30 GMT.
