Some interesting and crazy facts about venezuelan de facto dollarization:

-It is easier to see US Dollars than Bolivars, but most of you know it

-It is quite easier to buys Euros (Yes, €uros) than buying US Dollars.

-In Venezuela Euros and US Dollars have the same value. (Why? Thats other topic) But if you come from spain, changing euros for Dollars 1x1, get the euros, go to Spain, change it by dollars and come again, youre making real money

-Oficially minimum salary is less than 2$ per month. But this situation with dollars in the street have made that the real-real minimum amount you can receive by a private company is 20$ per month. And, if someone pays that amount for a month can be seen as an exploiter.

-Someone, who works in an "OK" job, can earn 100$ per month. The problem is that, most of people in the most popular and humble zones have public employment. And what the goverment givd you is just that. But also, most of this people have family outside of the country, so they receive also foreign currency.

-Dollar's Purchasing Power is decreasing. And good prices are increasing, even in US Dollars in some cases. It means that the fact of venezuelan having an international wallet, doesnt mean they can escape from crisis. But at least is not like 2016 or 2017. At least theres a fake sensation of normality.

-In State of Tachira, happens the same but with Colombian pesos. In that state, Bolivars are dead. They are just like an idea for pricing.

-In Maracaibo, theres a mafia with the cash, I mean the Physical Dollar. Theres a place called Las Pulgas Market (the city's common market) Where people buy youre Dollar, your colombian peso, your euro, or even your peruvian Sol. But less than its value. And they give you a really really huge quantity of bolivars in Cash, so you see people in the streets with huge amount of venezuelan cash over tables and huge amount of Dollars and Pesos in their wallets. I did lots of times by neccesity.

-Frauds and Scaming are dailylife. Clonning cellphones to steal identities and cheating people to make them transfer you electronic bolivars is the new crime. I have been scamed to times. First with 20$ then with 200$, the second pretended to be an uncle.

-To understand this theres another fact most of people dont know. Imagine your wage is 100$ per month. Your boss have to pay you in Bolivars because of the law and to declare his taxes in national currency (doing it in foreign currency means problems). He pays you, you need to change your money, so you look for people selling Dollars, even if you dont know them. Everything can happen. And of course, few people wants to sell their dollars, so the value of exchange get higher with every hour. This happens 15s and 30s every month, If you dont your money is going to devaluate faster.
Today, 8 september but in 1777, King of Spain, Carlos III of Spain created the predecesor of the Republic of Venezuela: Capitania General de Venezuela.
