🇨🇴🇻🇪 Avianca indefinitely suspends its flights to Venezuela following sanction by Maduro's government
The Colombian airline Avianca announced this Friday the immediate suspension of its flights to and from Venezuela, in compliance with the sanction from the Venezuela National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) of the Maduro's regime, which revoked its concession to operate in the country.
The measure includes the cancellation of operations and ticket sales on the Bogotá–Caracas route.
In an official statement, Avianca reiterated that its priority is the safety of passengers and employees, and regretted the inconveniences this decision may cause.
The airline offered protection alternatives for travelers with confirmed reservations:
- Proactive refund for those flying without connections on the Bogotá–Caracas–Bogotá route.
- Partial or full refund for those who had connections on the same ticket.
- Route change to/from Cúcuta with special conditions.
