María Corina Machado: "We dismantle the myth that Maduro was unbeatable"
«It is a moment in which we achieve so much support and be the focus of international attention. We dismantled the myth that Maduro was unbeatable in 2024. They (the government) are worried," Machado said this Thursday in a conversation organized by Inter-American Dialogue's.
For Machado, the most important thing about the primary election on October 22 is that it is "a citizen victory" accompanied by a great impact. "It is a turning point that will have its revelations in the coming days," said the opponent in her online participation, since she is prohibited from leaving the country.

🇻🇪 🇬🇾 What is causing the conflict between Venezuela and Guyana?
Recently, Frida @sex_drugs_kahlo drew attention to the increased diplomatic activity of the Guyanese authorities regarding the disputed territories with Venezuela. The Guyanese authorities have appealed to the UN to hold a referendum in the disputed territories, which seems like a way to protect Guyana's national interests. However, this is actually about the interests of multinational corporations who want access to the deposits located there.
The conflict between Venezuela and Guyana has been a long-standing territorial dispute over an area of 159.5 thousand square kilometers west of the Essequibo River, known as "Guyana-Essequibo". Caracas claims ownership of this territory, and the dispute has escalated due to Guyana granting oil concessions to ExxonMobil. The maritime boundaries of this area have not yet been determined. Additionally, the United States plans to establish a military base on the disputed territory.
At first glance, it may seem that the United States and multinational companies are preparing for a new local conflict in their search for new oil sources. However, Venezuela is not in a position to challenge this, and the concessions were awarded just days after the controversial oil deal between Caracas and Washington was concluded. It is likely that offshore oil production in Guyana is part of this deal.
🔻This elegant solution allows the Venezuelan authorities to save face and meet the interests of multinational corporations, while still maintaining a high level of confrontation in the media. For Chevron and ExxonMobil, the important factor is the volume of oil they can produce and deliver to the market, regardless of whether it comes from Venezuela's shelf or the disputed territories with Guyana.
📌 It is worth noting that before the introduction of sanctions, approximately 30% of Venezuela's oil entered the US market. These supplies had a significant impact on domestic prices. Furthermore, this deal will also cause some damage to small refineries in China, which had been monopolizing oil from Venezuela at very favorable prices after the sanctions were imposed.
On the other hand, the Pentagon and the CIA will greatly benefit from this deal, as it includes plans to establish a military base in the region to protect the interests of multinational corporations. In the future, this base could be used to exert pressure on the Venezuelan government, including a naval blockade of part of Venezuela's coast and ports by groups of saboteurs.

EL SOL DE VENEZUELA NACE EN EL ESSEQUIBO
Is worth to mention that both comunism and liberalism let that territory slowy out of our hands
1) Chavez recognized the legitimacy of Guyana over the Essequibo
2) Raul Leoni did not support the Rupununi Rebellion
3) Venezuela recognized the independence of Guyana without first resolving the territorial question of the Essequibo
4) Port of Spain Protocol of 1970 could be mentioned, a serious Venezuelan error of freezing negotiations for 12 years, during the times of President Rafael Caldera.
5) The constant civil wars, political instability and the small Venezuelan population to establish sovereignty in the territory, also due to the problems of communication routes to unify the country in the 19th century.
6) Mistake of never appointing a governor for that territory, and granting automatic citizenship to all those born in Essequibo, lack of strategic policies to solve that problem.
