این اولین اقتباس سینمایی از شاهکار جیمز جویس، 45 سال پس از انتشارش بود. نمایش فیلم در جشنواره کن 1967 جنجالی تمام عیار شد. طرفداران متعصب رمان جویس، به آن تاختند و منتقدی چون راجر ایبرت، فیلم را بعد از بانی و کلاید بهترین فیلم سال دانست. حتی نامزدی اسکار فیلمنامه نیز این جدل را کاهش نداد. سرانجام فیلم با درجه X در انگلستان به شکل محدود اکران شد. پس از آن دیگری خبری از فیلم نبود، تا اینکه ویژگیهای انکار نشدنی این اقتباس مهجور بلاخره سر زبان ها افتاد. فیلمی که ردپای فیلمسازان عصیانگر انگلیسی دهه 60 را در میزانسنهای هوشمندانه اش به رُخ میکشد. فیلم، در دوبلین با بودجه متوسط فیلمبرداری شد. وقایع داستان از رمان جویس1904 به دهه جنجالی 1960 انتقال یافته است. به همین دلیل با فیلمی روبروییم پر از شور تغییر. چیزی که مشخصه دهه انقلابی 60 میلادی بود.

رفقا، همونطور که قول داده بودم این فیلم رو دادم ترجمه شد و حتی پستش رو هم آماده کرده بودم اما واسه اینکه گفته بودم با زیرنویس انگلیسی نبینین و صبر کنید بزودی ترجمه فارسیش آماده میشه و چون تمام مترجمای خوب خودمون دستشون فیلم بود، مجبور شدم بدم یک مترجم جدید کار کنه ولی الان که ترجمه رو تحویل داده از کارش راضی نیستم. از اونجایی که همیشه گفتم کیفیت ترجمه واسم مهم هست این ترجمه رو بعد از آپلود حذفش کردم و توصیه میکنم به جاش از این ترجمه که توسط مترجمی به نام llillusionll انجام شده استفاده کنید.
