One of the hardest things about going down with the ship isn't only the impending doom but having to see her suffer beforehand.

An important lesson in life is to know that there's enough unpleasant people in this world worth disliking to become irate with someone who offends or upsets you without meaning to do so.

Remember the ones who are there, forget the ones who aren't. 🤝🍻

Walking in our ancestors' footsteps is a better way to appreciate, reflect, and live than a hypermodernised world in which no one can relate.

The Home of Execution, Empire, and Fine Ale - The Hand and Shears, 1 Middle St, #Barbican, #London, #EC1A 🍻

Join myself (@VinnieSullivan), ChelseaDan, Alex (@TheWonderinEnglishman), and Nick as we venture into the Hand and Shears to discuss the beauty, history, and meaning of a public house that means the world to London's past, present, and future. We would, of course, like to extend a special thanks to Carl for welcoming us and taking part in the video. If we had a few more like him then London's pub scene would be far better off. Follow us for posts and updates on Britain's pubs as well as to keep up with our docuseries. 🤝

Join us on #YouTube for a host of episodes covering Britain's lost and living pubs. https://youtu.be/_ITFwFG4I_w?si=htBF6ZPz0wGezEts

I may need to go on the missing list for a while. If so, I'll see you on my upcoming tour. Remember that you all mean the world to me and that the only faith we really need is in each other. 🤝

75-Yr-Old Publican and Village Poet Charlie Large discussing the death of local pubs in Britain during the 1970s

After his local pub was forced to close and became a private home, the former landlady still welcomed Charlie inside and even kept his old seat exactly where it had always been.
