Morgan Stanley added Amazon as a top pick, citing its move into the $600 billion fresh grocery market as a major growth driver. The bank estimates every 1% market share could add 120 basis points to U.S. gross merchandise volume.

Amazon has prepared for a 2,300-city rollout by adding cold storage to fulfillment centers and leveraging physical stores. Morgan Stanley said profitability concerns are mitigated by a $25 order minimum, higher margins on fresh goods, and larger basket sizes.

The firm believes Amazon’s grocery expansion can generate incremental profit while boosting network efficiency.

Bridgewater founder Ray Dalio advises investors to keep 10–15% of their portfolios in gold, calling it protection against debt-laden markets.

He warned rising U.S. debt costs “squeeze out other spending,” comparing the risk to a clogged artery heading for a heart attack.

SURVEY: 34% OF STUDENTS SAY VIOLENCE MAY BE JUSTIFIED TO STOP SPEECH

A FIRE survey of 70,000 college students found that 34% believe violence can be acceptable to stop campus speakers—up from 24% in 2021.

Of those, 19% said it’s rarely acceptable, 13% sometimes, and 2% always. Meanwhile, 66% said violence is never acceptable.
