BREAKING🚨: Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has authorized the Minnesota National Guard to stage and prepare for supporting law enforcement following a shooting involving federal immigration agents in south Minneapolis.

Executive Order 26-01 enables the Guard to protect critical infrastructure and assist with other tasks as needed.

The Minnesota State Patrol has deployed 85 members of its Mobile Response Team to aid Twin Cities law enforcement.

Walz commended Minnesotans for peaceful protests and stated the Guard remains ready to maintain peace, ensure public safety, and facilitate demonstrations if required.

The Guard will focus on property and infrastructure protection in a support role, allowing local agencies to prioritize community safety and investigations. The order provides additional resources to safeguard lives and property while supporting peaceful demonstrations.
