Excellent essay on Malthusianism

I've been working on this essay on and off for a couple of years, but it was a recent exchange about the planet's "carrying capacity" and "limited resources" that got me to finish it off.

I don't believe in the idea of a “carrying capacity” the same way that I don't believe in “safe and effective,” the greater good or in Climate Change™. These aren't contrarian positions for their own sake. They're recognitions that certain "scientific facts" function as empire-grade "fast thoughts"—ideas that seem so obviously true they stop further thinking, trapping minds into predetermined conclusions about scarcity, fear, and the necessity of “elite” centralised control.

Last month Distributed Denial of Secrets published a large number of emails from Ehud Barak. In those files, there is a real gem (discovered by Wikispooks!), a summary of a Le Cercle meeting.

The summary, containing the subjects for discussion and the speakers, is the most the is publicly known about any Cercle meeting. Participants include several shady arms dealers, the Prince of Monaco, and the freemason Grand Master of the Grand Orient de France. The meeting was led by Nadhim Zahawi (who you might remember as UK minister of COVID-19 vaccine deployment).

Le Cercle is a deep state milieu of a comparable age to the Bilderberg, but smaller, spookier, more secretive, and far less exposed. David Teacher summarised the group as “an international coalition of right-wing intelligence veterans, propaganda assets and top politicians who would shape the 1970s and 1980s.” It was entirely European for 15 years, but since 1968 it has met annually in both Washington DC and Europe. Leaked documents indicate that their activities include subversion, arms deals and fraud. Group members evinced great interest in "terrorism" back in the 1970s.
