To all personnel involved in handling and administering Cominarty VACCINE (MRNA-VACCINE AGAINST COVID-19)
With reference to the subject, if there is an accidental spill due to a rupture of the ampoule during the handling and administration of the vaccine COMINARTY, the following procedure should be followed:

1. Shut off the area and ventilate the room;

2. Wear the following PPE:

a. Impermeable apron

b. Shoe covers

c. Currently used respiratory protection (FFP2 + surgical mask)

d. Safety glasses/ Protective visor

e. Protective gloves

f. Protective jacket

3. Remove the fragments of the ampoule and dispose of them in the container for sharp objects.

4. Use absorbent material (such as absorbent wipes) to absorb the liquid, working from the outside to the inside. Dispose of the absorbent material in the biobox.

5. Decontaminate the affected area with sodium hypochlorite.

6. Remove the PPE and dispose of the disposable PPE in the biobox. Reusable PPE (safety glasses/protective visor) must be disinfected in accordance with the usual procedures.
