NEVADA LEGISLATION WOULD ALLOW TECH COMPANIES TO FORM SEPARATE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS

Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak announced a plan to launch so-called Innovation Zones in Nevada to jumpstart the state’s economy by attracting technology firms, Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Wednesday.

The zones would permit companies with large areas of land to form governments carrying the same authority as counties, including the ability to impose taxes, form school districts and courts and provide government services. [ Article ]

SUPREME COURT WILL DECIDE WHETHER POLICE CAN ENTER A HOME TO SEIZE GUNS WITHOUT A WARRANT

Unlike the “exigent circumstances” and “emergency aid” exceptions, the community caretaking exception is not limited to circumstances where there is no time to apply for a warrant. And the question of what sort of caretaking falls under this exception is extremely vague. Will the police be able to use it to, for example, conduct warrantless searches of political protesters’ homes to make sure they aren’t planning on violent behavior at their next political rally?

The 4th Amendment is supposed to protect the home above all other places. And whatever one’s views on gun control may be, the Supreme Court has clearly held that the right to keep handguns in the home is at the core of the 2nd Amendment. [ Article ]
USURPER BIDEN SIGNED AN EXECUTIVE ORDER THURSDAY DENYING STATE & LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ANY AUTHORITY TO REJECT THE "DROP-OFF" OF ANY REFUGEES INTO TOWNS & COMMUNITIES.
They're increasing refugees by 960% and making it so there's not a damn thing you can do about them dumping them in your town. Look for most refugees to be dumped in battleground and red states.

FBI IS SEARCHING FOR VICTIMS OF THIS MAN CREATURE

The FBI are asking for help in identifying possible victims in a child sextortion investigation involving this man from Port Chester, New York.

Jose Zafra was arrested on January 9th, and charged with production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Zafra used social media apps like snap chat to prey on young victims, including a 9-year-old girl in the Panama City, Florida, area. Other victims have been identified across the United States to include Columbus, Georgia, and Austin, Texas. Agents believe there may be many other possible victims.

If anyone has information about Jose Zafra, or believe they may have been a victim or know a victim, they are asked to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324), or submit a tip online at https://www.fbi.gov/tips. [ Article ]

World food prices rose in January for the eighth consecutive month, led by cereals, vegetable oils and sugar, according to a report by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.

The FAO said that its food price index marked a 4.3 percent increase from December, reaching its highest level since July 2014. The index tracks monthly changes in the international prices of commonly traded food commodities.

The cereal price index showed a sharp 7.1 percent monthly increase led by a global surge in the price of maize, the crop North Americans call corn.

Maize prices spiked 11.2 percent and are now 42.3 percent above their January 2020 level, “reflecting increasingly tight global supply amid substantial purchases by China and lower-than-expected production and stock estimates in the United States of America as well as a temporary suspension of maize export registrations in Argentina.” (More)
