NATIONAL GUARD TO REMAIN IN D.C. UNTIL THE FALL

A leaked email suggests that there are plans to keep the National Guard in Washington D.C. beyond the previously discussed deadline of March 12th, and throughout the Summer AND Fall of 2021. The email was written by Robert Salesses who is covering the duties of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Global Security. The National Security Council is asking the DoD to engage Capitol Police on planning for post-March 12th support. The email states:

“If it’s not possible to sustain at the current level with NG personnel, we need to establish the number of NG personnel (DCNG and out-of-state) we can sustain for an extended period – at least through Fall 2021 – and understand additional options for providing DoD support, to include use of reserve personnel, as well as active component.”

The Pentagon has confirmed that there are still around 6000 National Guard troops in D.C. [ Article ]

CUOMO COVER-UP
Democratic Assemblyman Ron Kim told CNN that he received a call on his cell phone from Governor Andrew Cuomo last week:

"Gov. Cuomo called me directly on Thursday to threaten my career if I did not cover up for Melissa [DeRosa] and what she said. He tried to pressure me to issue a statement, and it was a very traumatizing experience," Kim said. Cuomo proceeded to tell the assemblyman that "we're in this business together and we don't cross certain lines and he said I hadn't seen his wrath and that he can destroy me," according to Kim.

Cuomo's adviser denied that the governor threatened to destroy Kim.
