2. there is high political risk in China and their education and gaming sectors, which are two of the most popular area’s for foreign investment have crashed, dragging down their equities markets. The people’s bank of China has injected large sums of cash and junk bond yields have grown 2x since the begining of 2021.
3. Africa is getting a lot of attention, but Latin America has largely been neglected and has a much worse issue with Covid than Africa by many multiples.
4. The Atlanta Fed revised its GDP forecast down at the begining of September 40%. Although inflation has been stable at 5% y/y approximately and the periodic numbers do not show this to be accelerating, real rates of return remain negative. Unemployment remains high and record numbers of barges sitting off the coast of California has increased from a record of 40 to 50-60. A typical figure there is 0-1.
5. There is generally a shortage of food coming, including grains and meats, and it is a combination of the result of a number of unfortunate coincidences like the spread of Asian swine flu and natural disasters as well as foreign governments like China buying almost 40% of futures on certain foods in the United States. You will see increases in your food prices soon if you have not already, but they will not be as bad in the United States.

The financial chorus is stagflation, which is a product of the MMT experiment, and the cost of inputs will only be further pressured by the rising cost of energy inputs.
