A strong storm off the Pacific Northwest will continue directing a stream of heavy rain, high elevation snow and gusty to high winds over much of central and northern California, the Sierra Nevadas and the Great Basin Monday, October 25, 2021. Thunderstorms associated with isolated wind damage are possible over parts of the southern and central Appalachians into the Carolinas and Middle Atlantic region today.

3 people killed, 3 missing after avalanche hits Chimborazo volcano, Ecuador
At least 3 people were killed and three others remain missing after an avalanche on dormant Chimborazo volcano, Ecuador on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
The avalanche struck a group of 16 climbers at an altitude of 6 100 meters (20 000 feet), according to the AFP.1

Comet 29P is one of the strangest objects in the solar system and is recently behaving even more weirdly.
The British Astronomical Association (BAA) is reporting another strong outburst of Comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann. Two rare fall nor’easters, tornadic thunderstorms, flooding rainfall to target millions across central, eastern US as Halloween looms
A series of storms charging across the country will set the stage for rounds of explosive thunderstorm development and heavy rainfall through midweek across the central and eastern United States. The severe thunderstorm threat will diminish across the Eastern states by Tuesday as the storm slides off the East coast. Airlines operating in the United States will be forced to check for a passenger’s proof of vaccination and require contact tracing when international visitor restrictions end next month, the Biden Administration announced Monday.
Arriving unvaxxed travelers will need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test from within one day of departure – this includes U.S. citizens.

Consumers will be able to convert travel or hotel points on their cards into crypto.
▪︎ Thousands of banks and millions of merchants on its payments network can soon integrate crypto into their products
▪︎That includes bitcoin wallets, credit and debit cards that earn rewards in crypto and enable digital assets to be spent, and loyalty programs where airline or hotel points can be converted into bitcoin.
▪︎To do so, the payments network is partnering with Bakkt, the crypto firm recently spun off by Intercontinental Exchange, which will be the behind-the-scenes provider of custodial services for those who sign up.

Earlier this month, the leader of the caravan took to social media to warn that they are coming in peace, but "ready for war."
