🧿 As various people post their memories with and stories of Texas, the one translated by RWA reminded me of this gem. In their write-up RWA (Russians With Attitude) cover one of the battles at the monastery near the airport and Tex's Russian speaking skills; one of the many stories Russell shared with me in stupendous detail during my stay there, and with some details I can probably never speak about. I can, however, let Texas teach you some Russian.

Recorded at 2am (Nov 20, 2022) in front of his residence in Donetsk as we were enjoying the sound of outgoing artillery, and a very cold outdoor cigarette because he did not smoke indoors not even in his stairwell, out of respect for the neighbors. After several drinks overlooking the Donetsk Steel mill, and many tales from the front, Russell was going to give me a Russian lesson, so I grabbed my phone and recorded this epic lesson in Russian.

He also took me [in his Niva] to the very place it all happened and narrated a tour (here raw) and had the patience to have me take the mavic up for a maiden flight (TG🔗 1 2 - YT🔗 1 2) at the Donetsk airport, where he pointed out some recent hits, legendary. 🤠👊🏻

His character, sense of humor, knowledge and eloquent style* is and will be greatly missed.

On a personal note - Texas critiqued my raw footage (which we reviewed together in detail at his place) and was skeptical of my ability to edit it into something worthwhile, it is a shame he will never get to see the final releases.
