🧿 4/4 George McMillan III keeps going, overcoming technical difficulties, and getting into the final part of the introduction and background.
Once you see this, and the videos before it, you should have enough of an understanding of the academic and historically philosophical perspective on what Russia has been dealing with, from Sakhalin to Nordstream.

🧿 YouTube has gifted us with CC (Closed Captions) that are auto generated - meaning now people can auto translate to any language they want to, click on CC and then click on the subnoscripts option, and switch languages to whatever language you want to. They are pretty precise.

🧿 This new year's eve in Belgrade, Serbia, like in most large cities, the fireworks lasted for approximately three days.
Having had spent a week or so in Donetsk rather recently, the smell of gunpowder in the air as we counted down to 2023 forced a flashback of Petrovski district of Donetsk. I wouldn't call it PTSD, but as I went to sleep a couple of hours after midnight, some enthusiasts were still setting off fireworks, in the dark it reminded me of the first night in the DPR.
The contrast of the feelings evoked by fireworks vs artillery you can imagine, even though the sporadic acoustics were rather similar. Lying there in bed I couldn't help but hope that the people of the DPR, and Donetsk specifically, will finally, after eight long years have nights where they don't hear a war in the background.
Strange how your senses evoke memories, even though there was only a faint smell of gunpowder on the balcony overlooking the city (compared to what I smelt the day doing the rounds with the humanitarians) that and the explosions pulled me back instantly.
It was all the motivation I needed to continue working.

🧿Wyatt Lim from 'Defense Politics Asia' and the Working Brother sat down to talk.
Have a look at the interview, we discussed Wyatt's motivation to start reporting on the SMO, as well as some of his personal history.
We also talked about the current situation, how tactics have changed since Surovikin showed up, and what is to be expected.
There were also some cope, nice cope, and cross-border 'Shaolin' discussions as well.

🧿 Some notes -
1 This is the interview/talk that motivated me to get on Twitter. 🐦
2 For those of you who suggested to keep the humor, you will enjoy this talk. 🥴
3 Not sure why, but YouTube wont allow a preview of this talk so I had to post as above without a YT preview and had to make custom one. 📺
4 The audio quality is finally good. 🔉

🧿 So, apparently the salt mines in Soledar have the potential to become another Azovstal.
🚁 Yesterday, after interviewing and editing and uploading, I went for a flight in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, naturally I went to scope out the area around the current front line. Flew via Artemovsk (called that even in MSFS, uses Bing Maps) on to Soledar, and then to Siversk and landed at Lisichansk.
Some interesting trench networks can be seen, marked on maps in the upcoming posts.
