I gotta add to this.... The bridge was damaged in WW2. Approx 5 deaths a year due to crossing with the rope you had to crawl on. In 2002 a philanthropic group (whites) built a truss structure across the bridge. In 2005, the locals disassembled the truss structure to sell the material for scrap. In 2009 another philanthropic group built a cable bridge beside this one for the locals. Thanks for the additional information Michael.
