Theres something to be said for discord existing from the start as a corporate endeavor, in that there was no expectation that you wouldn't be monetized, that they wouldn't do every thing imaginable to generate revenue and yet still the only thing they advertise is their premium subnoscription. I give the service a lot of shit for being what it is, but at least it never said it wasn't.
