"At that time, the goal was for each country to allocate 2% of its GDP to defense," Blinken explained. "I assume that about two-thirds of NATO members will reach the two percent goal next year. This is good, but we want everyone to achieve it," he concluded.

"It is important for us that commitments exceeding 2% are fulfilled by each NATO ally," the US Secretary of State noted. According to him, the July NATO summit in Vilnius will have to decide what is necessary for the future after 2024.
