"I note that Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke about the European security architecture," he said, commenting on the results of his recent trip to China. "But there cannot be a European security architecture as long as there are invading countries or frozen conflicts in Europe."

According to the French leader, Beijing believes that now is the time for military action in Ukraine. "The time has not yet come for negotiations, even if they are being prepared and their foundations need to be laid," he said.

In his opinion, the ongoing dialogue with China is necessary to consolidate common positions, the first of which is compliance with the principles of the UN Charter.
