The missile is programmed before launch, it flies to the target guided by terrain mapping or using GPS.

Near the target, the rocket gains altitude, and then goes into a dive. The latest modifications of the rocket allow you to correct it on approach.

Storm Shadow was first used during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. They were then launched from British and French aircraft in Libya and Syria. The missiles were also used by Saudi Arabia in the conflict in Yemen.

There are modifications of the rocket both with a range of 290 km (such France produced for the UAE), and with a range of over 560 km at low altitude.

Ukraine, apparently, received a modification for 290 kilometers (which was previously announced by the UK).
